Pickleball Programs

For information about the game of pickleball, please visit our About Pickleball page.

At Clifton Hill Tennis Club we offer the following pickleball programs:

Social Pickleball

Social Pickleball sessions welcome players of all ages and every skill level. Please note that each social session has a maximum capacity of 18 participants when four (4) courts are used and 36 when eight (8) courts are used. Games are played in doubles and after each match, players switch courts or partners. If all courts are occupied, players may need to rotate after one game if other players are waiting. When not playing the participants have the opportunity to get to know one another, engage in conversations and exchange their pickleball and otherwise experiences. This is an excellent format as it promotes social connections and ensures a great playing experience for all.

These sessions are run by a qualified pickleball instructor or an experienced facilitator who can assist and answer questions regarding rules, scoring, game play positioning & basic strategy.

CHTC offers three (3) sessions for members:

Playing Pickleball at the Clifton Hill Tennis Club

Programs that are run during off peak times (Friday Night & Tuesday Morning) will be accessible for free to members with all membership purchases. Programs that are run during peak times (Sunday Morning) will be accessible for free to members that hold peak memberships (Standard or Adult).

Your membership entitles you to also play in tennis programs and to book tennis courts based on the type of membership you have. If you are just playing pickleball we recommend that start with an off-peak membership to access all the pickleball programs.

Membership Options

Option 1: Short term options (1 month)

A monthly membership, ideal for players who want to try out the club, facility and club programs or for people that just want to play for a short term.

A monthly membership starts when you make a purchase and will expire on the day of purchase the next month. There is no sign-on fee, and you can access courts and programs in accordance with the membership you purchase.

  • General Adult Membership is $90 – not recommended for Pickleball only players.
  • Standard Adult Membership is $60 – recommended for pickleball players who can only play Sundays.
  • Off-peak Adult Membership is $30 – recommended for all other pickleball members (some restrictions may apply).

These memberships start on the date of purchase and expire on the same day the next month. For example, if you purchase on 22nd November, you will be able to book on that day and the membership will expire on 22nd of December.

If you purchase a short-term membership, we will waiver the sign-on fee if you purchase a 12-month membership before it expires.

Option 2: 12-month Memberships

12-month memberships are the most economical way to access the Pickleball programs at Clifton Hill Tennis Club. We recommend 2 options:

  • Family Membership is $390+ $25 Sign-on Fee – recommended for pickleball players who can only play Sundays (but also during off-peak times).
  • Standard Adult Membership is $175 + $25 Sign-on Fee – recommended for pickleball players who can only play Sundays.
  • Off-peak Adult Membership is $120 + 25 Sign on fee – recommended for all other pickleball members (some restrictions may apply).

We operate with Rolling memberships which means that your membership will begin on the date of purchase and will expire on that date the following year.

Casual Play

Non-members can access the Pickleball programs, and the cost is $15 per session which includes paddle hire.

Bookings and Registrations

Bookings are essential and must be made online unless otherwise stated. If you want to watch you can come along to when sessions are in progress but in the interest of those that have booked, we do not allow people who have not booked to participate. However, as we welcome new players all the time, we make it possible for them to try and hence also monitor demand to determine if additional sessions need to be scheduled.

The maximum capacity for Tuesday Social Pickleball sessions is 18 players whereas the capacity for Friday and Sunday Social Pickleball sessions is 36. Cardio Pickleball maximum capacity is 8 and Advanced Pickleball is 12. Bookings on a first come first served basis. Each week you will need to book.
